April 1 2010 Breakfast Meeting- Aging in the Workplace
Occupational Medicine and Wellness provides monthly breakfast programs free of charge to area business leaders. Please join us for a hearty breakfast, chance to network with other leaders in the community, and an opportunity to learn from a variety of experts on topics related to occupational medicine and wellness.
Aging in the Workplace Thursday, April 1 2010 7:30am-8:30am Sartori Memorial Hospital Nearly 2 in 5 workers currently aged 50 to 64 plan to work beyond age 65. 78 million baby boomers are at retirement age right starting this year and many will continue to work past their retirement age. Employers need to find ways to keep their aging employees healthier and working longer. Please join us as Howard Perch, MS, FACHE, answers the following questions Why older workers remain in, or return to, the workforce? Are older workers more likely to have work-related injuries? How can employers reduce the risk factor for older workers? What are the specific safety concerns for older workers? What are the injury types for older workers? Are there any signs that older workers may need accommodations? What are some of the strategies for protecting older workers?
