Immunizations/Travel Medicine

Occupational Immunizations
Infections can spread quickly in a work site, causing loss of productivity in your workforce. Our staff can provide your employees vaccinations they may be missing, plus annual flu vaccines.

Travel Medicine
If you are planning a trip to a country or region far away, let Occupational Medicine and Wellness help. Call us today and we will provide you with travel medicine services.

Services include immunizations for yellow fever, malaria, and most other region-specific diseases.  We will also provide information specific to the country or region you are traveling to, such as health risks, immunization requirements, and advisories from the State Department. A travel medicine specialist is your passport to a healthy trip abroad.

Immunizations

Tetanus vaccinations
A tetanus vaccination is important for workers in contact with soil, sewage or domestic animals, or those with greater than usual risk of traumatic injury. A tetanus booster is recommended every 10 years to maintain active protection and every 5 years with an injury.

Flu Shots
Flu shots are offered in October through February. The vaccine takes about six weeks to build immunity.  Flu vaccinations can be scheduled on-site with minimal participation.

Hepatitis B
Employers are required to offer Hepatitis B vaccinations to all employees who are exposed to blood or other potentially infectious materials as part of their jobs, in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Occupational Exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens Standard. The three-injection series is given during a six-month period, and can be provided at your work site.

TB (PPD)
The tuberculosis skin test is a test used to determine if someone has developed an immune response to the bacterium that causes tuberculosis.

Other possible immunizations include, but not limited to:
Hepatitis A
Typhoid
Yellow Fever
MMR
Rabies
TwinRix
Meningoccal Vaccine
Polio
Tuberculosis Testing
